“Back to the Street”: the return of one of the players’ most beloved kits
CONTEXT
The launch of FC Südtirol’s new 2026/27 Home Kit celebrates the return of one of the club’s most iconic kits, originally worn in 2013, through
a look with a distinctive vintage feel. Starting from this idea, the project moves beyond the traditional institutional kit reveal to build a narrative rooted in a very specific cultural moment: the early 2000s.
PROJECT CONCEPT
Titled “Back to the Street. The Game Comes Home”, the audiovisual project reconnects with football’s most authentic, playful and visceral spirit. The concept brings together three distinct worlds: the free-flowing, spectacular energy of Joga Bonito, the urban imagery of FIFA Street’s neighbourhood pitches, and the street football culture that defined the era. The result is a young, physical and dynamic story, recognised for its ability to connect the club’s heritage with a contemporary visual language.
BEHIND THE SCENE
From a production perspective, the pursuit of authenticity was meticulous. The opening scene, set in an early-2000s teenager’s bedroom, was recreated entirely in the studio using original objects
and props from the period to create a believable, lived-in atmosphere.
The outdoor shoot follows a journey from Bolzano’s city centre
to a neighbourhood football court, capturing the city’s urban
character while bringing the street football narrative to life.
VISUAL LANGUAGE
One of the project’s most distinctive technical choices was the use
of authentic MiniDV camcorders. The street sequences were filmed directly onto tape and only later transcoded into digital format.
No VHS-style filter was added in post-production.
These images were paired with contemporary high-resolution footage, creating a deliberate dual-look approach that emphasises the contrast between two different eras and visual languages.
