Designing custom sales tools in
PROJECT
After years of collaboration with the Würth Modyf brand, a European market leader in workwear, Mercurio – working closely with the brand’s sales department – envisioned an engaging solution to illustrate the sales and purchasing process from the customer’s perspective. This strategic and creative brief evolved into a game design project inspired by the board game Monopoly, developed in both physical and digital formats. Mercurio oversees the execution of every phase and component of the project.
The game kit is designed for B2B activities, enabling the brand’s sales representatives to present it in person to clients and use it as a tool to illustrate the purchasing process through analogies.
INSIGHT
The Würth Modyf sales representative is the only player who can move the game piece across the board, doing so in sync with the rhythm of their storytelling. The game piece-like all other components-is custom-designed and 3D-printed, featuring the brand’s logo. The “Chance” and “Community Chest” cards are tailored to address potential questions regarding returns, warranties, and other useful sales-related information.
SPECIAL PRINT
Each game kit includes a square box (21×21 cm), a foldable game board (40×40 cm when open), and four internal compartments to hold the banknotes, cards, and game piece. All paper-based elements are entirely handmade and wrapped in Fedrigoni paper in anthracite, vermilion, and Woodstock gray tones. The game board graphics are printed in CMYK, while the logo on the lid and the QR code inside the box are screen-printed. The limited edition (only five pieces were created) and the artisanal craftsmanship make each kit a valuable item that enhances the perceived positioning of the brand.
WEB DEVELOPMENT
The QR code printed beneath the box lid links to the digital version of the game, which mirrors the concept of the physical product while offering greater accessibility. Pop-up windows for each square provide useful information, insights, and curiosities.
